Numerous studies have proven that regular exercise is good for your health and that structured exercise improves your short and long-term fitness. But are you fit enough to get started?
If you’re thinking about beginning an exercise programme, before you rush out to your nearest leisure club and sign up for a year’s membership, or perhaps start jogging around the block, your first step should be to honestly assess your current fitness levels. Start by completing our health status questionnaire so that you do not run the risk of injury when starting out in exercise, or something more serious.
If you answer yes to one or more of the questions, book an appointment with your doctor to discuss your exercise plans. Your doctor will certainly welcome your plans to improve your fitness but will also be able to advise you if there are any specific precautions that you should take, relevant to your personal medical history. If you answer no to all the questions and/or your doctor gives you the all-clear then you’re ready to improve your fitness and start your exercise programme.
