Thanks for that bit of advice mate, just wot I needed. I think I'll have to try and follow your lead and try something different on a couple of runs, probably on the shorter ones. Plodding is my favourite speed as well......

Did hear a story once (probably urban myth) about a bus which drove up one side as Tower Bridge was opening and the bus was able to 'jump the gap' and come down the other side
