Ruthless, I am, hard and flinty. But fair.

Please spare a thought for those at my running club this evening. One of our members, Rosie, died on Sunday as a result of a car accident last week. It's not the sort of thing you want to read when you log on to make a flippant comment or two, but we all have to find out somehow. She was a lovely lady, always cheerful, willing to learn and the first to offer help to the organisers of our club races. She will be sorely missed.
The tortoise has returned; it only took a new computer to do it!

sorry to hear that sir c de c, makes you put things into perspective.
i have some good news though, the cats people phoned earlier and we can have the kitten, unfortunately the older cat is taken. she is there because at the age of 2 and half months she ate some plastic and her owners couldn't afford the operation, she has been cleared by the vet to be adopted, and just needs to be weaned onto proper cat food (instead of post op food) and then she is available. they're coming to do a "home visit" on thursday, to make sure we ok cat people. so very excited children and a happy me, although i would have loved the old codger coach potato as well.
