It was 20 years ago to day that the Berlin Wall came tumbling down. Were any of you buzzers there at the time and have some memories of the historic event?

I wasn't there but remember the news coverage that I watched with some amazement. I was working in a community that cared for young adults with learning difficulties. Soon after the Wall fell, voluntary workers started arriving from Eastern Germany and later Russia itself. 7 years after the Wall, a Russian lady arrived and we have now been happily married for eleven and a half years. A direct result of the events in Berlin 20 years ago today.

Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

Went to Berlin about eighteen months later and through the Brandenberg gate from the East. What a contrast: the Eastern bit all run down - also saw a few Trabants - always quite amusing, and then this beautiful avenue once through the gate

Spoogie37, as named by The Style Council - not the pop group but some strange woman I used to work with who wanted to put me on the Trinny and Susannah show.

I remember seeing it all on TV as a kid at the time but didn't realise how momentous it was. Would love to do the Berlin marathon one day.

Here, there and everywhere!

If I get through the VLM in 2010, Berlin marathon would definitely have to be next on my list, though at the moment I'll just be happy to get to the start line next year.
