Overview

trying to get fit, entered into a mini triathlon

background - 34 years old, 6ft, 16 Stone (100kg), should be 80kg according to health stats, i think 86 is more realistic.

waist including love handles - 42.5, target 36

work in IT , lack motivation due to work/life balance, decided to enter a mini triathlon to help out a friend and also to raise money for cancer research.

all bran and green tea for breakfast

smoked mackerel and ryvita for lunch

tuna ,mustard on ryvita

 

i am gonna have home made bananna cake with a tea tonight

hopefully the run or swim will make up for the cake:-)

25 laps later, my waterproof I-pod leaked 

nat just reminded me about the 2 jellys and a worthers original - damn it!

breakfast - actimel plus cod liver oil and abc vitamin

ham rolls (brown) with home made mustard hmm

lemon sole and salad for dinner

10km bike ride along the canal. nice and quiet

poached egg on toast - breakfast

ham rolls and crips - lunch

roast lamb and veg - dinner

too much fruit juice and tea

exercise

30 minutes on the bike in the morning

and a 5km bike ride in the afternoon

so had to stop running  for a while due to shin splints

now have special pads for my feet and am back into training

still swimming alone has helped me move frmo obese into overweight on the wii and i really havent been watching my diet, so now its time to be a bit more strict.

waterproof i-pod cover and waterproof earphones that dont fall out

40 lengths ish,  listening to some really mellow tunes going at a "its the end of the week pace"

now for a bit of indulgence

so do i feel guilty eating all that chocolate and not blogging for a few days

not really - managed an 8 lap swim doing breast stroke and a 3.5km jog so building up nicely

managed to knock 8 years of my wii fit age as well - its all going a bit too well

lay cling film over a ramakin and break the egg into the cling film, gently squeeze the ends and place into a small pan of boiling water, boil for 90 seconds to 2 minutes and then remove onto kitchen paper

remove the cling film - ala the perfectly shaped poached egg

got woken up at 06:00 with my alarm clock (daughter jumping on my head wanting some warm milk)

ate a bananna, had some vitamins and headed for the pool, so i finally asked the attendant after 6 broken laps of breast stroke, are you sure this isnt a 33m pool, "no sir its only 25!"

ok so with 20 second breathers in between, i managed to just pull out 12 before staggering back to get changed

now at home cooking some poached eggs feeling very dizzy and a little bit icky
