do you think weight is an issue when it comes to running? I am not talking about the obese versus skinny argument. I am average height and average weight. My better half thinks I am skinny but I am definitely not when compared to most runners. However, I do wonder whether if losing half a stone could make the difference in performance. 20 years ago I was say half a stone lighter and certainly able to run a half marathon say 9 mins faster.
Think I am going to give it a go as an experiment and use this blog to track my progress in terms of weight loss and performance...just don't tell my better half!!

Read in Runner's World once that by losing a little weight you'll gain roughly 2 seconds per mile, per pound - so if you lost half a stone, that's about 42 seconds off your 5k time.
