Overview

Well, i have my place in this years Great Manchester Run, my first ever running race! Something told me that it was time to do something and do something for a good cause. So what better way to raise money for charity and get fit at the same time as to take part in the Great Manchester Run. myself and my brother are taking part on behalf of the Childrens Society, a charity which our family has supported for many years. I'm based in Macclesfield, so if there are any fellow bloggers up here in leafy cheshire who fancy joining forces and doing some training together in preparation for the race, contact me and we can plan to do some training up until before the race. I am hoping that this is the start of more participation in such races with the ultimate aim of completing a marathon in the future!

What a buzz from the Great Manchester Run!

Well, i completed my first 10k race as part of the Great manchester run!  Waht a buzz i got from it. Taking part in the race was just brilliant from the warm ups on Portland Street, to the support on the streets round the course and the support at the fininsh line, it was ace! I completed the 10K in around 52 minutes which i am really pleased with. I will definately be doing the great manchester run next year and also will sign up to other races during that time.  Great day!

Congrats on your time. I also did 52 mins or there abouts just waiting for the offical time to be posted. I just over the over moon with mine, it was my first and certainly not my last. I see you are based in Macclesfield. I live in Gawsworth, I am going to enter the Gawsworth Villiage 10k in Septemeber. If want PM me I send, you the details. But wasn't it just a fanastic day, the crowds were just amazing all the away down the course, especailly at the start and finish. Managed to be interviewed by the Beeb at the end, fortunately they have not shown it, yet anyway......Send it to the vaults.....
