Overview

I have the correctly fitted trainers, the running watch and the arm band to hold my i-pod.  Now all I need is a pair of running legs!  I'm not a natural runner, but do like keeping active. I've set myself the challenge of the Cardiff half marathon in October and I'm following a training programme out of Zest magazine.

My brother completed his second marathon this year, so there is a little bit of sibling rivalry to keep me motivated!

Losing weight means losing your sense of humour...

So after posting yesterday for the first time in a couple of years it came to my attention that several things have changed:

1) I have lost 2 stone, by change in lifestyle alone, no faddy diets here, yay!

2) I have started a new career as a Physics teacher, possibly a major cause of the weight loss (running after late homework)

3) I have ditched the boyfriend, possibly a major cause of the previously expanding waistline (portion size competitiveness and Friday night takeaways)

4) I have lost my ability to write, my overview for this blog is quite frankly boring, C for achievement, 4 for effort

After 20 minutes searching for my elusive i-pod, which then wasn't working, I stepped out into the rain for a 30 minute run.  My thighs screamed blue murder at me all the way round, but I made it :)

The thigh screaming is entirely self afflicted as I completed an hours dance class after yesterday's run.  Not the most sensible thing to do, but oh so fun.  I'm paid up for a series of 6 classes with one of the top UK dancers in this particular genre, and with all the other girls having dropped out it's turned into a one-on-one lesson.  Awesome! But HARD work.

So, onto the nitty gritty, summary of today's run:

Distance: 2.92 miles

Mile 1: 10:02

Mile 2: 10:14

Mile 3: 10:30

Total: 30:50

Music: none

Pre-run Snack: half a tin of peaches

Post-run Snack: about to knock up some grilled chicken

Sounds like you have really sorted things in life out, huge well done.
Dance classes sound fun, I'd love to learn but don't have the guts.
Great run, and good consistent splits.
Keep up the great work

Andy
