Well, I've had an amazing opportunity and moved to America!  I know that this will be a time of my life I will want to remember. And as I have a shockingly bad memory at times I have decided to start a blog documenting my antics!

A few of the people I have made friends with out here have clubbed together and rented a sumer house in the Hamptons for the whole summer! I've been fortunate to tag along. Oh and they are all into skydiving! So of course I had to have a go...

A friend invited me to the Annual Texas A+M Alumni Chili Cook off. Teams serve chili throughout the afternoon and people vote for their favourite. Throw in the fact that the Chili is free as is the beer and its at an awesome location, 230 Fith Ave, you have an absolutely wining formula for Good times.

Met a girl here whos company has a corporate suite at Madison Square Garden. Met her just in time too as she had two spare tickets for the Jay-Z and Mary J Blige concert!! Free food and Booze too. Was amazing. Sat basically above and to the side of the stage so got a good view of everything. I'm not the worlds biggest Jay-Z fan but knew pretty much all the songs and really enjoyed it. Guest appearances from Beyonce, P-Diddy and Method Man from Wutang Clan. Basically never would have seen anyone of those artists so very lucky to get free tickets... Love New York!

My friend had a spare ticket to see Goldfrapp yesterday so went along. Really good performance at the Beacon Theatre on the Upper West Side, but we were sat very high up and to make things worse I bust my camera so pics are terrible. Still, photos at gigs never really work!

Took the train from 125st up to Darien, Connecticut this morning to meet a colleague. Not been in the city long so was a little weird getting the trains as everything is always slightly different to the UK! Mangaged to get the Metro North Railway easy enough though. Nice big seats compared to Arriva Wales etc...

Was a very nice train ride up along the Long Island Sound and it was a gorgeous day. Unfortunatley forgot my bleeding camera so no pics. For lunch we went to a great little restaurant surronded by sailboats and had my first lobster roll. Very nice and sure it won't be my last!

Within a few hours of landing the one person I know out here sent me a text saying come down for a drink. I had planned to stay in, maybe grab a Chinese for the first night but I'm never one to turn dow a beer. So I met him and his friends at 79th and Riverside at this really cool open air bar right on the river. Awesome.

Here is my new street! Looks a bit grim in the picture but I love it. Never met so many interesting characters in my life. Harlem has a very bad reputation and people all seem to have the same reaction when I say where im living. Cross between suprise / horror and in some cases 'Wow - that's so cool!'
