Overview

I'm really sorry, but I've had to withdraw from the race, due to illness.  i've applied to defer my entry until next year.

Good luck to anyone who's still running.

...a friend has just sent me this website.  Click on

http://www.runlondon.com/routefinder, then click on CREATE ROUTE.

You can then type in the postcode of your starting point, and plot your route to measure your run! (anywhere in the UK).  I've just plotted two of mine, and they're spot on!  Saves having to drive round the route to measure it!  You can also save your routes for future reference, or for sharing!!!

What a great day!  Obviously, I was enjoying from the sidelines, but I felt really proud of everyone running...and it still managed to bring a tear to my eye...knowing that everyone was running for their own reason, adn that everyone has a story!

I was really jealous at the time, and really wanted to put my running shoes on and join in...but alas, I was still ill!

Andy had a good day too!  he finished in 1hr 23.  not his best, but hey, he managed to beat an Olympic Athlete!!!  if anyone saw the highlights, Andy was the one crossing the line just before James Cracknell!  it was really weird to see him on tv that evening!!

My comeback started this morning!  I got my shoes on and got out there.  only did 20 minutes, but it was nice to have the wind through my hair again!  I'm going to join Andy's running club (probably next week), so I should find it easier to stick with it, and be ready for next year!

Well done everybody!  I'm really proud of you all! xx

I'm really sorry.  I feel like I've messed everyone around....but I've been forced to make a final decision.

I've been unwell recently, and am just starting to recover slowly.  This has mean't that I've had to withdraw from the race.  I've applied to defer my entry until next year, so hopefully, I'll see you there next year!

I will still be there to cheer you on, as Andy is running, so if anyone has arranged to meet up at the finish line, please let me know!

Thankyou to those who have sponsored me.  I have cancelled my fundraising page, and am happy to reimburse anyone who had already sponsored me (Margot, Sandy & Andy Kelsall).  The other option is to just leave it, and consider it sponsorship for Andy's run.

Sorry everyone, I'm really disappointed not to be joining in all the fun.  but it really is for the best.

Take care everyone, and good luck!

xx

As promised, I got up yesterday morning....donned my kit, and did a much better job!  I'll tell you what though....it's amazing how much quicker you run when you know your parents are on their way over, and you haven't cleaned the house yet!!!  They phoned just as I was putting my running shoes on, so I knew I had two hours until they arrived!!!  I just did three miles, but I knocked 8 minutes off Monday's time!! My legs were much stronger, and I enjoyed it!

I then got back and cleaned the house at rapid speed!  Sat down with 10 minutes to spare, and acted like it was always that clean!!!!  I even managed to look offended when mum said "have you been running around cleaning then?!"  Tuh!!!

Gonna trot round the resevoir this weekend.  It'll take me longer than previous times, but it'll add a bit of distance!

I got my kit on....got my drink ready....headed out the door!

But I didn't even get out of the village!  It was awful!  I felt like I was going to be sick!  My heart-rate monitor strap was so annoying, I ended up ripping it off!  I thought "sod this!  go tomorrow!"...turned back, and went home!  I would've carried on if it wasn't for the feeling sick bit!  I don't know what was wrong with me, but running was the last thing I wanted to be doing.

So....looks like I'll be running tomorrow instead!

Yes!  I RAN!!!

I only did 3 miles, but I was quite pleased that there's still SOMETHING in the ol' legs!  I'll try to run atleast every other day, maybe with the odd reeeeaaaaallly short run in between!  got to make use of not having a job at the moment!

It was very hot, but not too bad.  I had to walk a couple of times, but I expected that.

Just incase anyone's wondering how we scrubbed up for the day...here's a little picture!

Training-wise...I've been swimming training with Andy, try improve my general fitness a bit.  That's been really enjoyable!  Used up my free passes now, so I guess I'll have to join the Gym properly!

I'm planning to get out running tomorrow, and see how it goes!  Keep you fingers crossed that there's still SOMETHING in there!!

I'll definitely be there.....as Andy is racing.....but it's looking like I'll probably do it. I've been out of training for 2 months now, so I'll probably have to walk most of it,as there's not enough time to sort myself out now.  However, with the atmosphere, and the music etc, I shouldn't get too bored, as I trot along!!!  See you there!

Thankyou all for your lovely comments!

The wedding went really well, and the honeymoon in Iceland was amazing!  We sailed amongst the icebergs, and then swam in a hot river!  Very surreal!

Just packing the cars up now, to move me over to Northampton!  I won't have access to a computer for a little while, so you won't hear from me!  Still undecided on the GNR!  I'll keep you posted when I can!

Good luck everyone! xx
