What's great about the local area near Cae Du Campsite?
There are plenty of walks from the campsite including the peaks of Snowdon, Moel Hebog and Cnicht, or more leisurely valley walks. There are fishing rights on the river passing through the site. Mountain bikes can be hired from Beddgelert Bikes. There are many attractions within easy reach of the campsite including castles at Caernarfon and Criccieth, Portmeirion, and the steam railways of the Snowdon Mountain Railway, Welsh Highland Railway, and Ffestiniog Railway.

The site is only a few minutes' walk from Beddgelert over fields, along the river and down a little county lane, so take a torch with you if you plan to wander down in the evening. The village has plenty of shops for supplies and places to eat if you don't fancy campsite cooking, and there are two good pubs with seats in the sun to enjoy a drink after a hard day exploring Snowdonia.
